wrapped to perfection
We provide a range of Paint Protection Film (PPF) options tailored to meet our customers’ preferences. A popular choice among our clients is the ‘gloss PPF,’ which mimics the shine of the original clear coat while offering all the protective benefits of PPF. Many customers have noted that this film enhances the finish of their vehicle, making colors more vibrant and even improving the appearance of neutral shades.
In addition to gloss, we also offer Satin PPF, commonly known as matte, stealth, or flat finishes. This option diffuses light across the paint’s surface, creating a distinct and sophisticated look.
Furthermore, our PPF selection includes innovative color change options. This allows you to completely transform the color of your vehicle while still enjoying the same protective advantages as the standard gloss and matte finishes. The possibilities are endless, giving you the opportunity to personalize your vehicle while keeping it safe from everyday wear and tear.
Satin PPF AKA matte, stealth or flat is another popular PPF option. The matte sheen softens light across the surface of your paint giving a truly unique appearance.
PPF also comes in color change options which opens up anther world to the Paint Protection industry. You now have the option of completely changing get color of your vehicle with all the same benefits of standard gloss and matte PPF finishes.
Common Myths About PPF
PPF will peel off the vehicles paint
Reality: Properly installed PPF adheres to the paint and removal by a trained installer won’t damage factory paint. In fact there are no solvents or chemicals involved in the PPF application process. Sure there are people that report paint damage when removing PPF (we’ve heard the stories also), but they often don’t mention that the underlying paint was already compromised or that an untrained person removed the film improperly.
Myth: You can easily tell which areas have PPF applied.
Reality: High-quality PPF is virtually invisible when correctly installed. Poor installations, visible edges, or low-grade film can be noticeable. If you choose to have Grand Elite Motors wrap your vehicle in PPF expect the final result to be invisible to an untrained eye.
Myth: PPF will yellow over time.
Reality: Older or cheap films did yellow. Modern PPFs contain UV stabilizers and manufacturers back them with anti-yellowing warranties. Longevity depends on film quality and care.
Myth: PPF traps dirt and bubbles under the paint.
Reality: We use slip solution and squeegees to wipe out any trapped contaminants, and a giant glass peel board so the PPF never touches the floor or table while we peel the backing and cap sheet. Bubbles and lifting almost always come from poor prep, contamination, or installation mistakes—not the film itself. With a combined eight years of PPF experience and hundreds of cars under our belt, we’ve seen it all. That’s why we keep an ultra-clean workspace and run a top-notch air circulation system.
- Myth: PPF voids the vehicle’s paint warranty.
Reality: Most automakers won’t void your paint warranty for professionally installed PPF — many even recommend it as extra protection. Grand Elite Motors is one of the few Long Island shops that dealerships actually recommend for PPF installation and we take great pride in working on many high-end vehicles straight off the assembly line.
- Myth: PPF causes paint to chip at the film edges.
Reality: PPF is designed to protect against chips. If paint is loose or poorly cured before installation, lifting or improper removal can pull paint. Proper surface prep and correct removal prevent this. Moreover, advances in PPF technology ensure a clean bond at all panel edges further reducing chipping – including rock chips from normal driving.
- Myth: PPF is the same as vinyl wrap.
Reality: They are different products for different purposes. PPF is a clear protective film designed to resist rock chips and scratches. Vinyl wrap is a thin PVC film used mainly to change color or add graphics. With all the recent demands for PPF, Grand Elite now offers color change PPF as well as carbon fiber and camo patterns and so much more.
- Myth: Scratches in PPF can’t be fixed.
Reality: Many PPFs have self-healing properties—minor surface scratches can disappear with heat (sunlight or a heat gun). Deep cuts may need patching or replacement of a panel section. The key takeaway is that PPF protects your paint from potential scratches. If the PPF happens to get scratched, unlike your paint, PPF will fix itself.
- Myth: You can’t wash, wax, or polish a car with PPF.
Reality: You can wash and use many waxes or sealants on PPF. Avoid abrasive polishes and aggressive compounds; follow the film manufacturer’s care recommendations. Ask us about the ceramic coating on top of PPF’s *and the specials we offer when combined with our PPF installations.
- Myth: PPF isn’t worth the cost—no real benefit.
Reality: Quality PPF protects against rock chips, stains, sun damage and minor scratches, preserving paint and resale value! Whether it’s “worth it” depends on driving conditions, goals, and the film quality.
